Every Fall a group from Sr. EYC travels down to Pawley’s Island, SC for our annual beach trip.
The car ride down, our dinner stop at Cook Out for Friday’s dinner, long walks on the beach at sunset – or really anytime, cooking food and cleaning-up together, and just hanging out at the house all give us time to enjoy our friendships, build new friendships, or discover something new about one another – especially those brave youth who came out for the first time! Punctuating our day at morning, noon, evening, and before bed are worship and devotions that remind us that this is about more than just warm feelings for one another, but about learning to live a common life together as the body of Christ. It’s these little ways – a walk, a talk, a meal, cleaning up, a song, a psalm – through which God seems to show up and knit us together as Christ’s body.
