By Emily McAdams, Sr. EYC Mentor
On Sunday, October 27, Sr and Jr EYC broke from the normal routine and gathered at the Cizeks’ for an evening of food, fun, and fellowship around a bonfire.
Jr. High, Sr. High and EYC mentors arrived before dinner to spend time together. EYCers played soccer and jumped in the leaves, while others played Apples to Apples, and enjoyed some warm apple cider. Some adventurous EYCers helped the mentors build up the bonfire and get it started.
After enjoying time together, the entire group gathered for a meal together, an important part of the EYC common life. By the time dinner was done, it was dark and time for the most important part of the evening – S’Mores! EYCers enthusiastically roasted marshmallows and devoured all of the graham crackers and chocolate.
The evening wrapped up with more time for EYC fellowship. Some kept roasting marshmallows, others went back to games they were playing earlier. Overall, it was a great evening of fun and fellowship with Junior High and Senior High EYCers all together enjoying the beautiful Fall weather!
