The Reverend Clarke French is the fifth rector of the Church of the Holy Family.

Clarke is a graduate of the University of Toronto and the Faculty of Divinity at Trinity College, Toronto.  Ordained as a priest in 1999 in the Anglican Church of Canada, Fr. Clarke served parishes in Alberta and New York before coming to Holy Family in 2011.  In 2012 he completed the Doctor of Ministry degree at Virginia Theological Seminary.

In addition to his pastoral duties, the rector is a member of the Religious Affairs Committee of the Chapel Hill-Carrboro branch of the NAACP, serves as the chair of the Commission on Constitution and Canons of the Diocese of North Carolina, and is one of the diocesan Title IV Intake Officers.

If Clarke is not at work or home, he’s probably birding. [not a typo]

Clarke and his wife Sally live in Chapel Hill and have two children at home.  Send Clarke an email here.
