Youth

Programs for youth at Holy Family are for students in grades 6 to 12. Our aim is to help youth receive the love of Christ, hear God’s call for their lives, and respond to both. Our program year for youth runs from September through May with special events and support for camps over the summer months.

Sunday School:

Our Middle and High School youth meet during the program year following the 10am liturgy. Middle School youth work through curriculum written especially for our youth by the Assistant to the Rector and are accompanied by adults mentors, lay leaders, and clergy assigned to their group for the year.

Youth Group:

Holy Family’s youth includes youth group, which we call Episcopal Youth Community or “EYC.” We are so named because that’s what we seek to be! Youth in grades 6 to 12 gather weekly with adult mentors for a variety of programs and retreats. Students are encouraged to participate in diocesan events and Episcopal camps during the summer. We send this information out early in the Spring and offer scholarships for youth who decide to participate. Come join our common life!

Special Events

Throughout the program year, we have a number of special events and annual traditions including weekend Sabbath retreats, the National Acolyte Festival, the Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper, participating in Crop Walk and the Durham Pride Parade, and a variety of opportunities to practice our faith alongside our neighbors through service.

Stay in the loop!
